✨UPDATE✨

I have thoroughly enjoyed presenting for brands and stores the last four months and have gotten to know some of the coolest small business owners.

While this learning experience was great and gave me a break from selling direct to customer, I am now back to doing what I do best and am not taking any bookings at this time⏰

The time and space(although it was still non-stop 😂) helped me redefine myself as a business owner and align with my values and goals. I definitely know what I do not want to be as a fashion business and have found my way back to the beginning of it all✨

Going to my other home🇳🇱 as often as I can and finding amazing + unique fashion for you to love is all I have ever wanted to do🧡

While many things are the same. there will be some changes that I will be addressing in a post which discusses healthy business boundaries.
It's not YOKA anymore, and I'm not the 22 year old girl who started this from a cart in a mall.
I have grown up with my business and am grateful for all the ups and downs, while keeping the relentless work ethic and vision I have always had🙏🏻

I will still be rooting for all the businesses that took me on to present for them, and will never forget you. I hope that you found some amazing new customers and I hope that my amazing customers found new great stores to love❤️

Classic Waterfront Style with European Flare

Yoka started as a cart located in the Oakville Place Mall in 2001. Thanks to its popular one-size-fits-all knits imported from Amsterdam, Yoka quickly outgrew its location. In 2003, Yoka opened on Queen Street East in The Beach neighbourhood of Toronto. Yoka became a fashion destination for Torontonians craving beach style basics with European styling, and a style institution for beach locals.

Owner, Carla Kloosterhuis-Lilly, is a second generation retail buyer and manager. Since her teenage years in the Netherlands, she has traveled the world scouring top trade shows for unique, high-quality fashion brands for the family boutique that opened in 1995.

The fundamentals of Yoka remain: Dutch fashion, paired with high quality footwear from Italy, Canadian made independent designs, and small batch L.A. fashion.

Carla has recently shifted the business online. A home boutique is also in the works in beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake, where she lives with her husband and two daughters.
