Classic Waterfront Style with European Flare

Yoka started as a cart located in the Oakville Place Mall in 2001. Thanks to its popular one-size-fits-all knits imported from Amsterdam, Yoka quickly outgrew its location. In 2003, Yoka opened on Queen Street East in The Beach neighbourhood of Toronto. Yoka became a fashion destination for Torontonians craving beach style basics with European styling, and a style institution for beach locals.

Owner, Carla Kloosterhuis-Lilly, is a second generation retail buyer and manager. Since her teenage years in the Netherlands, she has traveled the world scouring top trade shows for unique, high-quality fashion brands for the family boutique that opened in 1995.

The fundamentals of Yoka remain: Dutch fashion, paired with high quality footwear from Italy, Canadian made independent designs, and small batch L.A. fashion.

Carla has recently shifted the business online. A home boutique is also in the works in beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake, where she lives with her husband and two daughters.
