It might be too late for under the tree, yet another memoir from PHP is "Maxine Ross: Memories of a Dancer." Growing up during the depression in Toronto, Kay's family had a tough time making ends meet. Yet, with her own determination and amazing support of her mother, Kay was able to take dance lessons. Through the depression, the Second World War and the Korean War this very talented lady was able to entertain audiences together with her dance partner, Dennis Moore. With the environment of strong anti-semitism Kay changed her stage name to "Maxine Ross," to hide her Jewish faith. An amazing story of residence in the face of discrimination and economic hardships.
