Look at this absolute cutie! 🦉

Spotted this gorgeous little Northern Saw-whet Owl at the Priddis & Millarville Fair last weekend. Those big golden eyes, the soft brown feathers with white spots, and that perfect “who, me?” expression… pure Alberta magic.

These tiny owls are one of the smallest in North America and always steal the show when the birds-of-prey folks bring them out. Huge thanks to the educational ambassadors who let us get such a close (and respectful) look.

If you missed the fair this year, mark your calendar for next August — classic country fun, animals, exhibits, and unexpected wildlife moments like this one.

Washing clothes from way back, it’s a Maytag, connected to a gas powered Maytag motor. Imagine that in today’s day and age? Of course it’s possible that there are places that may still use similar washing machines.

I was at the Millarville Priddis Country Fair and well, of course I went to see the birds, you know, chickens, ducks and so on... you know, some of them are very pretty. Have you ever thought of a chicken as pretty? Who knows what kind of chicken this white fluffy one is, reminds me of angora. Don't miss the duck with the fluffy head dressing.

Quick glimpse from Pioneer Acres!

Was at the Irricana Pioneer Acres Museum for their Annual Steam Power event this year and had a fantastic time.

Here’s a little taste of what you’ll find — classic tractors working hard on the track and a whole lineup of beauties waiting inside the sheds.

Steam engines are the big stars, but there’s so much more to explore. Highly recommend checking it out during the Annual Show (Pioneer Days / Steam Power Festival). Great food, great machines, and history you can walk right up to.

If you’re in the area next year, go! You won’t regret it.
