100 Mile House RCMP responded to 133 calls for service during the period between August 11, 2026 and August 18, 2026. This is a summary of the highlights.

File 2026-2858

On August 11, 2026, RCMP received a report of a possible impaired driver on Horse Lake Road. Police made patrols and located the vehicle on Watch Lake Road. The driver was spoken with where observations of drug impairment were made. Field sobriety tests were conducted which resulted in the driver performing poorly. The driver was detained and brought to the detachment where further testing was completed by a Drug Recognition Expert. The driver was later released. The investigation is ongoing.

File 2026-2868

On August 11, 2026, RCMP received a report of a break and enter in progress to a business located on the 4000 block of Highway 97 near Lac La Hache. Police attended where two adult males and one adult female were found on the gated and locked property attempting to hide. All three individuals were arrested for break and enter. A search of a large duffel bag found on the property was found to have contained two shotguns, bear spray, and an edged weapon. It is believed a fourth individual was involved and a vehicle described as a pick up truck with a headache rack was observed to drop off the persons involved. Police are continuing the investigation.

File 2026-2874

On August 12, 2026, RCMP received a report of a single vehicle collision and possible impaired driver on Horse Lake Road near Sven Road. A witness observed a vehicle described as a grey Chevrolet pick up drive onto a field on private property. A female driver exited and cut the fence and the drove erratically into the field before crashing into another fence on the property. The female was then observed fleeing into the woods and was not located upon police arrival. A photo of the suspect female was taken by the witness and has been identified by police. Several pieces of suspected stolen property were located in the vehicle and seized. Police are continuing the investigation.

File 2026-2891

On August 13, 2026, RCMP received a report of a single vehicle collision on Highway 97 near Lac La Hache. Police attended with BC Emergency Health Services where a pick up truck that was towing an RV trailer was observed in the ditch on its roof. The RV trailer was demolished and the truck sustained severe damage. Two occupants of the vehicle were taken to hospital for further treatment of injuries that were believed to be non life threatening. Police viewed dash cam footage of the incident from a witness where it was determined the vehicle left the road way and went up an embankment before rolling over. The investigation is ongoing.

File 2026-2898

On August 13, 2026, BC Highway Patrol were conducting enforcement on Highway 97 near 100 Mile House. A vehicle was travelling at a high rate of speed which radar confirmed as 104 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone. The vehicle was stopped where the driver was issued a violation ticket for excessive speed and the vehicle was impounded.

File 2026-2901

On August 14, 2026, RCMP received a report of a single vehicle collision on Horse Lake Road near Macmillan Road. Police attended where a single occupant was found in the driver seat. The male driver was spoken with where observations of alcohol consumption were made. The male who was confrontational was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. The male subsequently refused to provide a sample of his breath upon demand. Additionally, it was determined the male was prohibited under the criminal code and motor vehicle act from driving. As well, the male was on court ordered conditions to not consume alcohol and not to be behind the wheel of a motor vehicle. The male was arrested for these offences and transported to cells. The investigation is ongoing.

File 2026-2912

On August 14, 2026, BC Highway Patrol were conducting stationary speed enforcement on Highway 24. A vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed which radar confirmed as 142 km/h in a posted 90 km/h zone. The vehicle was stopped and the driver spoken with where suspicion of alcohol consumption was formed. A breath test was conducted using an approved screening device which resulted in a fail. The driver was issued an immediate roadside prohibition from driving for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days. Additionally, the driver was served a violation ticket for excessive speed with a further impoundment of 7 days.

File 2026-2930

On August 15, 2026, RCMP were conducting patrols on Highway 97 near Keene Road. A vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed which radar confirmed as 145 km/h in a posted 100 km/h zone. The vehicle was stopped and the driver spoken with where observations of alcohol consumption were made. A breath test was conducted using an approved screening device which resulted in a fail. The driver was detained for impaired driving and brought back to the detachment for additional breath testing. The results of the breath testing did not meet the criminal threshold for impaired driving but did meet the requirements for an administrative driving prohibition for 30 days. A violation ticket was also issued for excessive speed and the vehicle was impounded.

File 2026-2933

On August 15, 2026, RCMP received a report of an ATV rollover on Boultbee Road. Police attended with other Emergency Health Services where it was determined the operator of the ATV had rolled off a steep embankment. The single occupant was taken to hospital in 100 Mile House for undetermined injuries that were not believed to be life threatening.

File 2026-2935

On August 16, 2026, RCMP conducted a check stop near Lone Butte. Police stopped several vehicles. Of note, a vehicle was stopped and it was determined the driver was prohibited from driving. The driver was arrested and later released to attend court. The vehicle was impounded. Another vehicle was stopped and driver spoken with where observations of alcohol consumption were made. A breath test was conducted using an approved screening device that resulted in a fail. The driver was served an immediate roadside prohibition from driving for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days. A vehicle was stopped and the driver spoken with where observations of alcohol consumption were made. A breath test was conducted using an approved screening device which resulted in a warn. The driver was issued an immediate roadside prohibition for 3 days.

File 2026-2961

On August 16, 2026, RCMP were conducting patrols on Canim Hendrix Lake Road when a vehicle was observed with a vehicle safety defect. The vehicle was stopped and the driver spoken with where it was determined the driver was prohibited from driving. The driver was arrested and subsequently released to attend court at a later date. The vehicle was impounded.

File 2026-2967

On August 17, 2026, RCMP received a report of a single vehicle collision on Highway 24 near Roe Lake. Police attended with other Emergency Health Services where it was determined a semi tractor/trailer had gone off the road around a corner which resulted in the load of lumber it was hauling being thrown onto the highway. The truck sustained severe damage and the single occupant was taken to hospital in 100 Mile House for treatment of undetermined injuries that were believed to be non life threatening. One lane was blocked while the scene was cleared. Commercial Safety Vehicle Enforcement were called to assist in the investigation. Speed contrary to the road conditions are believed to be a factor. The incident remains under investigation.

File 2026-2968

On August 17, 2026, RCMP received a report of theft from a vehicle while parked near the 99 Mile ski trails on Highway 97. Sometime in the preceding hours, the vehicle was entered where a backpack, wallet, smart watch, smart ring, and prescription pad were taken. A credit card that was inside the wallet was later used in Clinton. The investigation is ongoing.
