Some days, motherhood asks more from me than I feel capable of giving, especially when I’m already carrying things inside myself that nobody else can see. I can be smiling, making meals, answering questions, giving hugs, and showing up for my child while quietly fighting battles in my own head that leave me completely drained. What makes it harder is the guilt, because even when I know I’m struggling, I still worry about whether I’m giving my child the mother they deserve. I’m learning that being a loving mother doesn’t mean I have to pretend I’m okay every minute of the day, and sometimes simply getting through the day, loving my child, and trying again tomorrow is more than enough. 🤍
