Yesterday was our sweet little Huckleberry's 10th week birthday!!! He has grown in the two weeks we have had him and I'm feeling sort of desperate to capture him as much as I can while he is still so little!
He has made himself totally at home now with us and is finally making friends with Teddy - on Teddy's terms! LOL.
He is the smartest dog I have ever had! He already knows how to go up and down stairs, learned that the first week! He almost has "sit" and "wait" down perfectly. We are working on "down" and "off" as he is getting into everything now, even things on the coffee table!!
I introduced a push button for potty time. He presses it and it announces "outside". He used it twice in a row the other day and did his business outside like a wonderful boy! 😇 But then an hour later peed inside. sigh. 😟 It is a work in progress. Yesterday afternoon I left the patio door open and he went out on his own and came back a moment later. What a good boy.
The one thing that still shocks me is how much he wants his food! Lordy, he turns into a frantic leaping creature when he sees his bowl coming. 🤣 I give it to him in his playpen and make him sit and "wait" while I hold it. But the minute I move to lower the bowl he goes nuts. I have to hold him back while I actually put it down.
He is very smart to learn things like posing. Last night I used kibble to lead him around the large stump and put his paws up so I could take my pictures. I was alone. Dreadfully difficult to photograph a puppy with few skills at a distance. But, using this log, I managed and got what I wanted. I can hardly wait to train him to do other poses with me. Teddy could never do any of this stuff and could care less about his food most of the time and is a scaredy cat basically. But of course, he is our baby and we love dearly anyway. 💖
Note: I did not put him in the water, he walked in after me when I went in to get his ball back. Looking forward to water experiences with this guy!
