Well well well… if it isn’t your favourite boyband/duo back from the DEAD?!
Burke and I have been cooking up High School Royalty since August 2023 (!!) according to my voice memos app. With Burke out west and Isaac still in Ottawa, persistence was key with this one. FaceTime calls, a race to record whenever we were in the same town, and a lot of growth along the way.
This is a song about faking it, feeling like everyone had it figured out before you, and realizing we’re all just bumbling around anyways. High School was a weird time.
Huge thanks to for absolutely crushing the drum parts here. mixed this one and tucked in the last little bits with a great master.
