Every week, I organize a casual pickup hockey game.
It started as a simple way to get on the ice, stay active, and meet people.
This week, we decided to make it a little more special and hosted our first Canada Day Classic.
What stood out wasn’t just the hockey. It was seeing a full group of people excited to be there, competing hard, laughing, and building relationships.
It reminded me of an important lesson that applies far beyond sports.
If people genuinely look forward to being part of something you’ve created, you’re probably doing something right.
Whether you’re building a business, a product, a service, or a community, people come back because of the experience. They stay because they feel like they belong.
One of the best investments you can make is finding a community of like-minded people who challenge you, support you, and push you to improve. Growth rarely happens in isolation.
I’m grateful for everyone who came out and made the Canada Day Classic such a great event. It was competitive, full of energy, and exactly what community should feel like.
Here’s to many more games, great conversations, and building something people are excited to be part of.
Happy Canada Day! 🇨🇦🏒
