Modernising Counting and Arithmetic of Large Numbers in Native Didinga, Laarim, Tennet and Murle
The e-book and paperback for *Modernising Counting and Arithmetic of Large Numbers in Native Didinga* has now been published on Amazon and available for anyone to order online.
This first publication in what will be a series, covers the introduction of primary concepts of counting numbers from small to large numbers in *Didinga, Tennet, Laarim and Murle.*
This is a starter and a primer on the subject, to lay the foundational concepts and principles from which to then proceed with formulating elementary mathematics in our native language and make *Didinga, Murle, Tennet and Laarim* mother tongue to foster modern day concepts and make those concepts accessible to the vast majority of our populations from young age.
Our native mother tongue is more than capable of communicating knowledge and modern concepts in our mother tongue and think in mother tongue as well.
The purpose of this introductory publication is to open the door to experiment with the potential and capacity of our native mother tongue to foster mathematical thinking and concepts and make modernisation accessible without compromising our language and making it entirely replaceable with foreign influences which distort our language simply because we are not making efforts to modernise it while retaining originality and authenticity of native Didinga staying abreast of modern times.
This is therefore a modest attempt to chart the way forward to modernise our counting system and elementary mathematical knowledge and its principles and practices. Mathematics is logical and formal which makes it a little easier to lend itself for replication in our native tongue. More importantly, our children will start to interact with modern mathematical concepts in a language that they understand well and with ease. Their mother tongue.
