See y'all Sunday!

More about Produced By Youth: Produced By Youth (PBY) exists primarily as a free, safe(r) and brave(r) space for young Black artists in Ottawa across all creative disciplines. At our core, PBY is about safety and community belonging, with a focus on music as self-expression. We believe real growth happens when Black youth have a dedicated space to show up authentically and build confidence without financial walls or judgment; having mentors that share their lived experiences makes that environment possible.

More about Pass The Vibes: Founded in 2019 in Ottawa, Pass the Vibes creates inclusive, Q***r/Trans-safer spaces for QTBIPOC youth, centering Black and Black/Q***r communities. Led by Black Q***r artists and organizers, PTV supports emerging creatives through mentorship, community building, facilitation, and experimental spaces that foster confidence, healing, and artistic growth.

Round 2 of the Recording Engineer Program (REP) | Applications now open! 🚨

We back! Stay tuned to hear more about the 5 engineers that graduated Cohort 1. We’re so excited to share more about their journey through the program 🧡

Here’s a reminder of what applicants can expect from REP:

• Training 10 Black aspiring sound engineers 🎧
• $400 honorarium to participate 😮‍💨💸
• Free meals every session 🌮
• Travel covered to/from 🚌
• Career opportunities 👨🏾‍💼

This program is our goal to diversify the audio-tech scene in Ottawa, while boosting confidence and providing aspiring sound engineers the real-world experience they need to succeed. Participants will learn to record, mix, and master music in Pro Tools using UAD Apollo interfaces and the legendary Midas H3000 48-channel analog mixing board.

Following completion of this program, participants are offered a spot to host their own sessions through our upcoming UNDERGROUND studio, kick-starting their career as sound engineers!

This program is for youth 18–30 that identify as ACB. If you or somebody you know are interested, please pass this on!

Applications are available in our bio, or at www.producedbyyouth.ca. Applications close August 25, 11:59PM.

This program would not be possible without the funding provided by the Canada Council for the Arts, the donation of equipment and time from Drew Malamud, and the Midas Board stand built custom for our studio by Justin Walker (who is now a graduate from Cohort 1!). Thank you all 🧡
