Analysis: War in Ukraine and Palestine Benefits Warlords, Not People
Recent developments indicate China's backing of Russia, as confirmed by Ukrainian President Zelensky and Canadian Prime Minister Carney. Amidst this geopolitical turmoil, Good Friday offered a glimmer of hope with dialogues between Israel and Palestine advocating for the release of all hostages, emphasizing the desire for peace without disarmament.
Unfortunately, the ongoing conflicts predominantly serve the interests of warlords instead of the civilians yearning for a peaceful existence. The U.S. has found itself in heightened tensions with Ukraine, particularly after President Zelensky's recent visit to Trump's team, which seemingly contributed to Russia's ongoing military aggression.
The chaos deepens, exacerbated by Trump’s decision to reduce funding for the World Health Organization and his apparent disregard for the United Nations, both of which play vital roles in international stability.
Key players such as Russia, Israel, and the U.S. have all worsened the crisis, with the potential for China, India, and Saudi Arabia to join the cause.
Meanwhile, humanitarian aid workers and healthcare systems are being deliberately targeted, reflecting a blatant disregard for international law.
Despite attempts to address these crises, international legal frameworks have proven ineffective, leading to a significant backlash against the ICJ.
