Japa story!
So you can’t wait to join the bandwagon of the japaed? You have made all the necessary arrangements and even the days have started counting. Good ! Very good! It is a wise decision you have made but wait and consider the following
1. What are your strengths and weaknesses?
2. What is your strongest selling point ?
3. How are you going to align your skills, knowledge and adaptability to suit your new environment?
Profession-wise, I was many things rolled into one by the time I relocated abroad, a filmmaker, writer, civil servant, entrepreneur and phd student. I took a risk and found myself at a crossroads. No matter your level of education and status in Africa, you are unemployable until you have undergone some trainings and orientations. No other way around this, unless of course you are arriving with tons of money to pay your bills and upkeep.
On this page, I shall be sharing some things that I have learnt as a newcomer, my training/ certification as a food handler/Chef/cook, my job and my challenges as a food services attendant and many more things.
Why don’t you hit the follow button, share and comment and let’s learn, grow and catch fun together!
