As proud supporters of the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music, we were so pleased to learn that their Gaza-based initiative, “Gaza Sings: Voices of Steadfastness and Hope”, has been awarded the 2025 Music Rights by the International Music Council (IMC). This award recognizes extraordinary efforts to uphold the fundamental rights of people, particularly children, to access music education and performance, even under the most challenging conditions.

Congratulations to the team for this well-deserved honour. Their single-minded commitment to music education, cultural preservation and creative expression in unimaginable circumstances inspires us all.

We are delighted to be exhibiting once again at this weekend. The fair, which has been running since 2002, has grown to become the biggest international marketplace for violin makers, string instruments and accessories.

As the home of Stradivarius, Guarneri and Amati, Cremona is an inspiring place to spend a few days and we’re looking forward to catching up with Kun customers as well as local musicians and luthiers throughout the fair.

Have you heard about the Northern Ensemble, a Gaza-based music project run by the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music at Birzeit University in Ramallah? The project was the brainchild of Dr Ismail Dawood and founded in the displacement camps of Mawasi Khan Younis, and the ensemble comprises 30 young men and women who received one year’s training in camps around Gaza. Students were then chosen for the group based on their commitment and excellence, and it’s presented a number of performances in Gaza’s tent camps.

It’s part of the Salute to Gaza programme, a child-centered arts and music education initiative led by which provides psychosocial support for displaced and traumatized children in Gaza. Kun is working closely with ESNCM on ways we can support this urgent project.
