Stewardship 1:
DIGITAL ENGAGEMENT AND ONLINE MINISTRY
BIBLICAL ANCHOR:
1 Corinthians 9:22; Psalm 68:11; Matthew 18:20
When Jesus said, โwhere two or three are gathered,โ He established a principle of spiritual assembly, not a limitation of location. In this generation, the where of gathering has expanded significantly. People now gather daily in digital environments that shape belief, identity, and community.
The Church must recognise these spaces as legitimate mission fields and steward them with apostolic intentionality.
THE โWHEREโ OF DIGITAL GATHERING
In 2026, the gathering places of people include:
- Facebook
- Instagram
- X (formerly Twitter)
- TikTok
- Truth Social
- Official church websites
- Church mobile applications
- Email platforms and structured digital communities
Wherever people gather intentionally in the name of Christ, under pastoral oversight and sound doctrine, He remains present in their midst.
*Action points:*
- Establish official, consistent, and verified church presence across relevant platforms.
- Define the ministry purpose of each platform rather than duplicating content indiscriminately.
- Use Facebook and Instagram for community engagement, testimonies, events, and pastoral teaching.
- Use X for leadership voice, doctrinal clarity, cultural engagement, and public theology.
- Use TikTok for short form teaching, devotionals, evangelism, and youth engagement.
- Use Truth Social where appropriate for faith based civic and values driven discourse.
- Maintain a robust church website as the central digital hub for sermons, resources, announcements, and institutional credibility.
- Develop or deploy a church mobile app for sermons, discipleship materials, giving, prayer requests, and member communication.
- Create structured systems for digital follow up, counselling, prayer, and integration into physical church life.
- Assign trained media teams under pastoral oversight to ensure theological soundness, consistency, and accountability.
- Archive teachings digitally to preserve institutional memory and extend discipleship reach.
SPIRITUAL OUTCOME:
Expanded reach without doctrinal compromise, sustained engagement beyond physical services, effective integration of digital participants, and faithful stewardship of modern gathering spaces.
