In the quiet of a manger, Heaven touched earth.
Today we rejoice in the birth of Jesus — our Savior, our Light, our Peace.
May His coming bless your heart with grace, joy, and lasting hope. 🎄✝️

The O Antiphons are some of the most beautiful and ancient prayers of the Catholic Church, especially dear during Advent.
The O Antiphons are seven short, poetic prayers addressed to Christ, each beginning with “O” and invoking one of His biblical titles from the Old Testament. They are sung or recited at Vespers (Evening Prayer) before the Magnificat.
The O Antiphons are prayed from December 17 through December 23, the final days of Advent, immediately leading us to the celebration of Christmas.
They mark the Church’s most intense preparation for the birth of Christ.
Each antiphon expresses Israel’s longing for the Messiah and the Church’s expectant cry: “Come!”
The Seven O Antiphons (Dec 17–23)
Dec 17 – O Sapientia (O Wisdom)
Dec 18 – O Adonai (O Lord)
Dec 19 – O Radix Jesse (O Root of Jesse)
Dec 20 – O Clavis David (O Key of David)
Dec 21 – O Oriens (O Rising Sun / Dayspring)
Dec 22 – O Rex Gentium (O King of the Nations)
Dec 23 – O Emmanuel (O God-with-us)
✨ A beautiful detail: taking the first letter of each Latin title backward spells ERO CRAS — “Tomorrow I will come.”

Monsignor Marco Frisina is not only the Musical Director of the Coro Della Diocesi di Roma but he is also one of the greatest composers of sacred music of this age. His repertoire is vast, focusing on sacred liturgical music, including over 700 songs, oratorios, film scores, and theatrical pieces

We at St Anthony’s Choir are privileged to
Sing many of his compositions such as Anima Christi,Pane di Vita Nuova,Benedici il Signore, Canto di Madonna Povertà,Eccomi,In Notte Placida, Jesus Christ you are my life,Stabat Mater only to name a few.

As our Director says, “this man has been gifted by God and with the number of songs he composes, I don’t think he sleeps “

We agree.

Today Pope Leo XIV is landed in Ankara, Turkey to visit Nicea tomorrow for the 1700 annivery of the Council of Nicea (325AD)

It is where our Church Fathers gathered for the first time under Emperor Constantine to establish the foundation of our orthodox belief and what we affirm today at every Mass as the Nicene Creed

Nicene Creed
We believe in one God,
the Father, the almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is,
seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven;
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.
