For over three decades, Radio Irava has been a vital voice in Ottawa’s multicultural media landscape. As the first Persian–English radio program, it has connected communities, shared stories, and created space for dialogue across cultures.
Today, Narges Kafafi, host and radio producer of Radio Irava, is standing with us and reminding students why this platform matters.
Community radio like CHUO 89.1 FM has always been more than a station — it is a training ground for students, a home for cultural voices, and a place where the next generation of broadcasters begin their journey.
Now the future of that space depends on student voices.
📩 Undergraduate students: check your uOttawa email and vote now (March 2–6) to help rebuild and protect this platform for students and community voices.
