Hugs, hugs, everywhere,
So much love in the air.
New friendships made and connections built,
Through the test of time, they will not wilt.

Today, we hosted a ‘Wrap Up Party’ for Branches Between Generations as we have completed all of our recording sessions for season one.

Our teen and senior participants dropped in today to the in downtown Parksville and we gathered in their rooftop room for an amazing food spread and to reconnect and share more stories.

It’s clear that this whole experience has impacted everyone involved in a positive way, and I couldn’t be more proud of hope it’s all come together.

None of this couldn’t been possible without the hard work and dedication of Clinton () and Siska (), you two have made this experience an enjoyable one. Thank you.🙏

We took this month’s We Are Community podcast on the road…all the way across the road, that is, to the SOS Thrift Store. (Just. Can’t. Stop. The. Dad. Jokes)

Last night was the ever popular Teen Shop Night hosted by . Teens get to spin the big wheel for discounts when they enter, certain items are tagged on sale for them, there’s a live DJ (local DJ Connor) and the event is done after hours so the entire store is taken over by teens! Such a fun time.💯

This month’s episode will be released next week and is focused on the benefits of shopping at the SOS Thrift Store, thrifting in general, and the thrill of the treasure hunt!

Our final recording session for Branches Between Generations was so incredibly special and definitely one of the best sessions we had. 🏳️‍🌈

It featured Camden and Shaun, of the LGBTQ community, giving us a fresh perspective on the challenges they’ve faced in their respective journeys.

Some photos from one of our last recording sessions for Branches featuring Liz and Jet.

These two were both raised in Parksville, Liz being here since the age of 2 and having seen lots of interesting change in town since then.

It was great to hear about the way things were back in Parksville many years ago for kids growing up and being able to compare it to what it’s like growing up in Parksville now, in 2025.

What a wonderful way to spend a morning, listening to the amazing voice of this young phenom who came by the studio to record an audition video. 🎶🎤

Just passing through Parksville while travelling from Kelowna to Port Hardy to visit family, they found our studio online and rented the studio for an hour this morning to have a controlled space with solid acoustics to record their audition video.

This is what it’s all about, it’s nice to be able to help them out. And have fun doing it.

Big thanks to Haley and Layla for stopping by the studio and sharing your amazing voice with me. I will not be surprised when I see Layla in an upcoming feature film of some kind. Unreal talent. ⭐️❤️🔥

It was as though these two had known each other for years, as their shared passion of mountain biking stoked the conversation and took it to new heights. 🚵🏔️🚲

Rob and Aiden instantly bonded over their love of riding bikes. The cameras weren’t recording yet and they were deep in conversation. Wicked stuff.

When not discussing all things two wheels they chatted about education, respect, relationships, friends and death. Freedom was a big topic, too, and what that means for each of them and how it’s affected each of them thus far in their journeys.

We’re on location at Quality Foods in Parksville shooting our next video podcast for the . 🍏 🛒 🆘

The SOS uses their bus for many reasons that benefit the community including the bi-weekly trip to the grocery store for local seniors who need assistance getting their groceries.🚐

The 🆘 bus picks them up at their home, a couple of volunteers are on hand to assist with grocery shopping, if needed. They gather to have coffee before leaving and finally they get dropped off and even get their groceries carried in for them. Amazing!

The bus is in need of major repairs and requires replacement therefore the SOS is fundraising specifically for this purpose.
