Macabre Obscurum promises dark theatrics, an inclusive spirit, with heavy metal at its heart.

The typical late-night, four-band format doesn’t work for everyone. By mixing things up and including variety acts, it becomes more accessible and engaging — especially in a world shaped by TikTok attention spans.

We sat down with 's Stuart Kristensen to discuss this weekend's event!

"I quickly discovered the music scene in Peterborough was there and thriving and ready to come alive again post pandemic."

Kayla Mahomed had to come to terms with falling out of love with the music she was playing, while trying to reinvent herself and decide exactly what direction she wanted to go.

The Pulse had the chance to sit down with her and talk about her reintroduction to the Peterborough music scene as Kay Silver, an authentic pop-rock artist who will be performing later this month.

An unusually cold winter in Peterborough might mean you leave the house less, see less shows, and in general isolate yourself and wait out the chill. Peterborough’s newest music festival aimed to change that by bringing musicians and writers together to perform during the coldest time of the year.

Highly Likely is a collaboration between Michael Cloud Duguay of , an independent music and arts presenter in Peterborough, and brothers Andrew and Sean Fitzpatrick of in East City. The three have worked together for previous Miracle Territory shows, hosting most of them in the bookshop. Highly Likely is a festival of music and literature, featuring authors and musicians locally and afar. From Thursday to Sunday there was music and readings happening at the shop, and The Pulse was there to check it out!
