Our goal at JOURNEY Magazine Ptbo is to explore and report on local gender issues and social issues in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. As we celebrate the many beautiful voices of the women of our neighbourhoods, we hope to provide some insight to these, at times, serious issues; we hope to make you aware of available community resources; and we hope to further the discussion towards possible solut

ions where needed. We have chosen to support Red Pashmina Inc., a local grass-roots initiative, which speaks for women in our community and globally Many of the women you will meet on these pages are part of its Women of Impact project. By selling its red pashmina scarves, RPI has been able to raise thousands of dollars to support the education of women and children in Afghanistan, through its collaboration with Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan. With this in mind, a portion of profits from JOURNEY Magazine will be given to Red Pashmina Inc. to continue its good work.

We are once again offering home-made frozen or fresh apple and pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving. Price is by donation. All money raised goes to help bring a Kurdish-Syrian family here, who are now living in the south of Lebanon in the throes of a possible all-out war with Israel.
