Great day in the studio Friday with Dave Gunning and Dane Pedersen. We don’t have photo evidence of it but it was excellent. Here’s a great track I worked on from 2007 featuring the man of a thousand songs - Ron Hynes and the amazing Jamie Robinson

What a day!

There were so many amazing acts! It was truly difficult to make a choice.

The coolest thing of all was hearing all the original songs!

The talent was outstanding.

Thank you to all the contestants!!!!

Hello CBMIC Artists!

My name is Johnny James, and I am the Conference Coordinator for the National Campus and Community Radio Conference being held from June 11th -14th in Sydney, NS.

I am putting the call out for local Cape Breton musicians and artists to come and perform for our attendees during our evening social events! I'm looking for around 10-12 artists across the four days!

We have secured Factor funding alongside other grants to put on this programming and our attendees are staff and volunteers from independent radio stations across Canada, so it would be a great opportunity to network and get your music into the hands of hosts and programmers and played in new parts of the country!

Here are the dates we are looking to fill:

Tuesday, June 11th @ Island Folk Cider House from 7pm-10pm
Looking for 2 or 3 solo/acoustic/singer-songwriter acts.

Wednesday, June 12th @ Venue TBD from 7pm-10pm
Looking for 2-3 acts of any kind.

Thursday, June 13th @ Eltuek Arts Centre from 7pm - 10pm
Looking for 2-3 acts, preferably full bands.

Friday, June 14th @ Membertou Trade and Convention Centre from 7pm - 10pm for our Awards Gala
Looking for 2-3 acts of any kind.

If you are a CBMIC member and perform mostly original music and are interested in taking part, please email me at ([email protected]) and let us know which days you may be interested along with details on your performance costs by May 20th!

Regardless if you can perform or not, I would like to extend an open invitation to our conference session on our Earshot Distribution Platform on June 14th @ The Membertou Trade & Convention Centre from 1:30-2:30pm AST. It is an incredible program and platform that has been developed to make getting your music in the hands of stations from coast-to-coast easier than ever!

If you have any questions at all, again, you can reach me at [email protected]!

Thanks!
Johnny
