New Westminster Chamber of Commerce hosts a coffee social from 8 to 9 a.m. at Waves Coffee House (715 Columbia St.) to reflect on Truth and Reconciliation with First Nations, for the local business community. The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to wear the colour orange. Registration is encouraged.

CONCERT NIGHT
The Country Divas pays tribute to country music’s best performers at a free show hosted by the City of Coquitlam. The concert is from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Town Centre Park Community Plaza (1299 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam) and is part of the city’s Summer Concert Series that’s sponsored by Polygon Homes.

NIKKEI MATSURI
Enjoy the Japanese summer festival at the Nikkei Centre (6688 Southoaks Cres., Burnaby). Zenyasai 2026 runs from 3 to 10 p.m. while Matsuri 2026 is on Sept. 5 and 6 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is $15. The weekend events include performances and Japanese food. Check out the exhibit Return to Paueru G*i: 50 Years of Powell Street Festival in the Karasawa Gallery, which ends on Sept. 6, and shop at the marketplace.

DOWNTOWN TOURS
Go on a walking tour of downtown Port Coquitlam at 10:30 a.m. and learn about the city’s history with the PoCo Heritage Museum and Archives (150-2248 McAllister Ave.). The tour is by donation for a suggested $5. Registration is requested. Meanwhile, join a walking tour of downtown New Westminster at 11:30 a.m. at the Anvil Centre (777 Columbia St.). Tour the Hyack Market in Hyack Square, in New Westminster, between noon and 6 p.m. to shop for handmade wares and hear the live music. The weekly event is presented by the Downtown BIA and the City of New Westminster.
