What started as a peaceful evening turned into a life-or-death moment — and one Portage father didn't hesitate to act.

Preston Houle rushed to save a drowning toddler earlier this month and performed CPR until help arrived. Thanks to his quick thinking, the child is expected to make a full recovery.

He’s now urging others to get CPR certified and stay alert around water. 🛟

🚨 Community Alert – Escaped Suspect in Portage la Prairie 🚨

RCMP and Manitoba First Nation Police are actively searching for 26-year-old Byron Roulette, who escaped police custody Thursday evening.

He was last seen around 7:30 p.m. on July 24 near the 500 block of 5th Street SE, shirtless, handcuffed, wearing grey-brown shorts, and with visible blood on his shoes.

👮 A large police presence, including RCMP dogs and drones, was in the area of 5th Street SE and Queens Avenue.
