I don't know why, but I have been scared to try these...maybe it's because they, for some reason, remind me of when my mom put butter under peanut butter on sandwiches. That always grossed me out. Anyway...I'll power through lol. So today's are these Honey Butter chips made by Lays for the Flavours of Korea edition.

Well, the open bag smell was very intensely butter. I almost barfed. Anyway... let's do this! Ok I ate half a chip...that's all I could handle. I hate them. Now I can't get the butter taste out of my mouth...gross. Seriously I can't with these. Free bag of chips for anyone local who wants to try them. 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢

that beloved children’s musical group Sharon, Lois and Bram are from Canada?

The group was founded in 1978 after borrowing $20 000 from friends and family they released their first album titled ‘One Elephant, Deux Éléphants' and made history by becoming one of the fastest selling kids albums produced in Canada.

Their first show, ‘The Elephant Show’, aired on CBC during the 1980s and was picked up and aired in reruns on Nickelodeon in the United States up until 1996. The show featured songs, sketches and the trio alongside a large, human sized elephant.

Their second series, titled ‘Skinnamarink TV', was also a fan favourite and ran for 52 episodes on the CBC in Canada and the Learning Channel in the U.S. from '97–'99.

Today was Pirate Pak Day!

Unlike HBC with Zellers, White Spot brings childhood back right! I was very impressed from start to finish.

Commitment: The restaurant was decked out in pirate items and all the employees were wearing some pirate-related clothing.

Menu: I was surprised by how many options there were. It was actually difficult to choose what I wanted to eat.

Nostalgia: So good. The Pirate Pak was exactly the way I remember it, complete with the chocolate coin and ice cream. The only thing that was missing was the straw as the mast, but I can forgive that because White Spot has done away with straws. The environment trumps convenience and I'm in favour of that.

My review of the Zellers pop-up here in PG

As someone who is a nostalgia fiend and a kid who practically grew up at Zellers, I feel qualified to be "judgy" about the return of Zellers…as a pop-up store…inside The Bay…

Anyway, if it was possible, I was really looking forward to this, but at the same time, I anticipated disappointment. My predictions, however, were shattered…I was even more disappointed. I can't remember the last time I felt let down like this. People say (and I agree) that Zellers never should have closed in the first place. But this pop-up (in Prince George at least) never should have opened.

Zeddy: Appeared nowhere. (The biggest disappointment for me.) Unless this lame teddy bear face is supposed to be some kind of modern Zeddy.

Zellers restaurant: Doesn't exist. I'm not sure anyone expected it would be back this time.

Prices: Nothing special. Definitely not as low as they should be to live up to the Zellers name. I'm reminded of when Target came to Canada…we all know what happened to those.

Nostalgia: Other than the hoodie that I could have bought, there was none. I never felt it. Not even once.

Overall impression: It was terrible. For starters, there was no indication outside The Bay that the Zellers pop-up existed. No signs on the door. Nothing. It's like they were embarrassed or something…The single associate assigned to the Zellers "section" seemed optimistic that the pop-up would be added to…I hope it's for the better. There are no toys at all. There is a small baby section though. There are men's and ladies clothes and a few household items. The selection is so small however, I would not recommend anything. Do better HBC. Do better.

I am so beyond stoked on some of my recent acquisitions. Thanks to FB Marketplace, Kijiji, and a thrift store, I have 3 things I remember playing with A LOT when I was a kid. A Barbie carry case from 1989 (with Mattel sticker and Zellers price tag), Mickey Mouse Yahtzee from 1989 (still sealed), and "Gigantik" Lion King game.

Zellers has announced 21 locations across Canada that will get a blast of nostalgia this summer and Prince George is on the list.
