A Siberian husky in Northern BC reviews her raw fed dinner.

The freeze dried shrimp was the correct opening. Whole, shell on. No notes.

The whole quail is where the kitchen showed real confidence. Delivered as found, feathers included, nothing tidied up for the customer. I respect Grand Valley Quail Pet Treats®️ who does not soften the product to make me comfortable.

The Big Country Raw beef was generous. The egg yolk sat on top of it like it was posing for something. Two small dried fish, salty, fine, unremarkable in the best way.

Seven things I have learned in seven years.

1. Recall is a suggestion. I have reviewed the arguments for it and remain unconvinced.
2. The bed has to be fluffed before it can be used. This is not a quirk. This is construction.
3. If you pick the heaviest log on the beach, nobody will question whether you can carry it. They will simply watch.
4. Volume wins arguments. Being correct is optional and frankly slower.
5. Twenty four chickens is twenty four too many and I was not consulted on any of them.
6. Staying disappointed is not a mood. It is the brand. There is a Sapphi-e-meter. It goes to six. I have personally never dipped below a three.
7. Nothing out here runs on the schedule anyone wanted. Dinner is late, the frost comes early, the walk happens regardless. I have stopped fighting it and started setting the pace myself.

Seven years in. Still unimpressed. Still right.

A Siberian husky in Northern BC has one consistent position on life and she holds it no matter what the circumstances are.

Someone walked past the bed without stopping. Disappointed. The suitcase came out. Disappointed. Dinner arrived exactly on time. Still, somehow, disappointed.

She is not sad about any of it. She has simply decided that expectations are a burden and she is not carrying them for anyone.

So this is your sign. Stop managing your face. Be disappointed. Stay disappointed.

A complete list of everything a Siberian husky in Northern BC loves, compiled by the husky herself. No input was requested from anyone else in this household.

Tasty food. Fresh breath, an item added to this list by management and approved by me. Sunbathing. Judging from the passenger seat. Road trips through Smithers. Camping, provided the tent meets my standards.

Getting surprised. Making demands. My chickens, who are mine, regardless of what anyone else has to say about it.

Rest. Unemployment. Slow mornings, which I consider a right and not a privilege.

And my pawrents, who had the good sense to bring me to the wedding.
