Prince George, BC does not give you a fast season, so right now this greenhouse is all leaves and green tomatoes. No red ones. Not one. Just fruit that exists and refuses to be ready on my schedule.

Gifted by Pawfect House

This husky was not invited to her own unboxing.

Mom loves it. Tremendously. She has said so four times. And I am happy for her, I am, but the audacity of using Stuffie for the photos when I was available and in the room. Unreal. She will be hearing about it.

Anyway. Look at what they did with the memento from our trip. Me and her on a bench, stitched right into it. That is us. ❤️

This husky invented being left on read and she did it without a phone.

I said her name. She heard it. She held the exact same position and waited for me to accept it. Six years in and I still say it like it might work one day.

Some of us are the one asking. Some of us are her. Only one of those people is at peace.

This husky does not report to me and she wants me to know it.

Heard me. Made eye contact. Did not move.

Fifteen years of running projects taught me you can own the deadline, the plan and the whole deliverable and still have zero authority over the one who actually has to move. Influence matter.

This husky has been emotionally unavailable since roughly 2023.

He tried everything. But she went limp like a woman who has already decided the conversation is finished.

Seven years of walks and she still ends every single one on her own terms.

The real luxury of life is not what I thought it was two years ago.

I used to measure it in title changes and big wins. Fifteen years of that. Then I quit with nothing lined up and had to figure out what was actually left when the job came off.

Turns out it looks like this. Nine at night in August in Northern BC with the sky still holding light and everyone I answer to is right here with me. My pack.

That is the whole thing. That is the luxury.

I said one thing about her treats and she brought a full rebuttal.

Over ten years of managing stakeholders and I still lose every argument to a Siberian husky who has never once been wrong in her own mind. She talks back, she holds eye contact, she waits for me to finish so she can go again.

Then he cuddles her like I am the villain in my own house.
