The garden is starting to explode! I love this time of year when the warmer days arrive and everything starts to really grow. This year are some special guests that I was not anticipating. Aphids, whitefly’s and caterpillars have also been enjoying the space. A daily chore to keep them at bay.

Hectic start to the with so many projects on the go that all need to be done at the same time. Slowly seeing things come back to life is exciting! Focused on enjoying my tasks at a pace that works for me really helps to remind me this is something that brings me joy and is not work!

I work an adjusted schedule that gives me every second Friday off. Today it was spent in the yard pruning and cleaning carefully. The yard got neglected last year starting in July due to family illness so I am very far behind. Trying to find that gentle balance of getting back in the yard and not rushing as the pollinators still need their spots. I cannot wait for the weather continue to warm up so I can bring this yard back to life!!

Time to start getting some of my seeds ready for planting and lavender is a favourite. Picked these up today at along with a few more must haves! I am going to cold stratify this dwarf munstead variety from to give them a better chance at germination. Putting them in the fridge will mimic winter and help prepare them for the next step. I really like all the extra details given on the website to help understand each unique need of the seeds!
