Farewell, Sweet Betty
Today, our beloved Betty crossed the rainbow bridge.

She came into our lives in July 2024—rescued in the dead of winter. We found her chained to a house, soaked from the rain, her frail body caked in mud. That was the only life she had ever known.

But we didn’t hesitate. We stepped in.

Betty was an elderly soul—unseen by the world, forgotten. She had never known love, safety, or the comfort of a warm bed. No full belly. No clean water. No gentle hands. But from the moment we brought her home, everything changed.

Thanks to the unwavering efforts of the Pack, Betty spent nearly a year surrounded by love. She had a home. A family. Canine siblings—Chocolate, Coco, and Alma—who, like her, were rescued from the streets of Valparaíso.

This is why we do what we do.
Not for praise. Not for recognition. But for them.

Every rescue is a life transformed—a story rewritten. From suffering to safety. From fear to love. It takes heart, grit, compassion, and yes, tears. But above all, it reminds us of one simple truth: it’s always worth it.

We know we healed her soul.

Today, we say goodbye with heavy hearts—but with peace. Because we know her final chapter was filled with the dignity, care, and joy she had always deserved.

We imagine her now—running free, maybe beside Minerva, a kindred spirit she never met in this life, but perhaps has found now. After all, the streets of heaven are wide, and dogs always find each other where there’s love.

We’ll love you forever, Betty.
Always.

Oprah Winfrey isn’t just a media mogul—she’s a passionate advocate for animal adoption and welfare. Over the years, she has opened her heart and home to rescue dogs, including Sadie, Sunny, and Lauren, all adopted from shelters.

Oprah has also used her platform to raise awareness about puppy mills and the importance of adopting, dedicating entire episodes of The Oprah Winfrey Show to highlight the plight of homeless animals. Beyond that, she set up a $30 million trust fund to care for her beloved fur babies, ensuring their well-being for life.

Through her generosity and advocacy, Oprah inspires countless people to consider adoption and support animal welfare initiatives, proving that even the smallest paws can leave a huge mark on our hearts.

On his very first night home from the shelter, the dog was still unsure of everything. But instead of lying apart, he quietly climbed onto the couch, wrapped his paws around the little boy, and pressed his head against him.
It wasn’t just a hug. It was a thank you. A promise: “You saved me, and now we belong to each other.”
That moment said it all — adoption doesn’t just rescue a life, it completes a family and heals invisible wounds on both sides.

Imagine hiking a green mountain trail with 1,800 happy dogs.

There’s a no-kill sanctuary in Costa Rica called Land of the Strays. Locals know it as Territorio de Zaguates. It sits high in the hills above San José.

Here, rescued dogs live safe and free. They get food, vet care, and a chance at adoption. If they never find a home, they still have one here.

Visitors can meet them and, on special pack walks, hike the trails with the dogs. It feels like a moving sea of wagging tails and muddy paws.

The place runs on care and community. Staff and volunteers look after seniors, special-needs pups, and the shy ones too. Every dog gets a name. Every dog gets a chance.

If you love dogs, this is one of those places that fills your chest. Joy, hope, and a lot of fur.
