Farewell, Sweet Betty
Today, our beloved Betty crossed the rainbow bridge.
She came into our lives in July 2024—rescued in the dead of winter. We found her chained to a house, soaked from the rain, her frail body caked in mud. That was the only life she had ever known.
But we didn’t hesitate. We stepped in.
Betty was an elderly soul—unseen by the world, forgotten. She had never known love, safety, or the comfort of a warm bed. No full belly. No clean water. No gentle hands. But from the moment we brought her home, everything changed.
Thanks to the unwavering efforts of the Pack, Betty spent nearly a year surrounded by love. She had a home. A family. Canine siblings—Chocolate, Coco, and Alma—who, like her, were rescued from the streets of Valparaíso.
This is why we do what we do.
Not for praise. Not for recognition. But for them.
Every rescue is a life transformed—a story rewritten. From suffering to safety. From fear to love. It takes heart, grit, compassion, and yes, tears. But above all, it reminds us of one simple truth: it’s always worth it.
We know we healed her soul.
Today, we say goodbye with heavy hearts—but with peace. Because we know her final chapter was filled with the dignity, care, and joy she had always deserved.
We imagine her now—running free, maybe beside Minerva, a kindred spirit she never met in this life, but perhaps has found now. After all, the streets of heaven are wide, and dogs always find each other where there’s love.
We’ll love you forever, Betty.
Always.
