Day 2: You Are Not a Mistake
Devotional
There is a lie that suffering whispers quietly and persistently. It says that if something is broken, it must not have been worth much to begin with. A diagnosis, a disability, a struggle that will not go away can start to feel like evidence that something went wrong at a fundamental level. But God does not make mistakes.
When Jesus saw the man born blind, He did not see a defect or a divine oversight. He saw someone made in the image of God, carrying a story that was still being written. The blindness was not the final word. It was not even the most important word. That same truth applies to you. Whatever you are carrying, whatever label has been placed on you by a doctor, a family member, or your own inner voice, it does not erase what God placed in you. His image is in you. His purpose is on you. And no circumstance, no matter how heavy or confusing, has the power to cancel that.
This is not a motivational slogan. It is a biblical reality. You were known before you were formed. You were chosen before you could earn it. The hard thing you are living through is not proof that God forgot about you. It may be the very place where He intends to show up most clearly. You are not an accident. You are not a problem. You are a person God sees, knows, and is actively working through.
Bible Verse
"But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:19
Reflection Question
In what area of your life have you been tempted to believe that God made a mistake, and what would it look like to reject that lie today?
Quote
"No person here today is a mistake. No life is a mistake. No diagnosis can erase the image of God that He placed in you."
Prayer
Father, remind me today that I am not a mistake. Help me to see myself the way You see me, as someone made in Your image and held in Your purpose. In Jesus' name, Amen.
