Our Story
We came together in a small space on the second floor of what was then, Scott’s Parable in 2011. We wanted to bring music, talk and personality that was Safe and Fun for the whole family! A radio station that parents could always feel comfortable about their kids listening to. Shine FM in Edmonton and Calgary had already been broadcasting and successful for more than a decade. Now it was Red Deer’s turn.
Over the 7 years we’ve been here we’ve gone through many changes, not the least of which was a change of address. Our first 18 months were spent in the converted storage area of Scott’s Parable on Gasoline Alley. We had a birds eye view of the store and a cafe that served incredible treats within arms reach. However, it was not really a space we could expand, so in November of 2012 we made the move to our own custom studio and office on Gaetz Ave. We miss our friends at Parable, but we are ever grateful to them for putting us up and giving us the chance to get started. Without their support and generosity we’d never have gotten off the ground.
Over the years our staff has changed, as often happens in radio, but the music and the mission have remained the same. To bring encouragement and entertainment that is Safe and Fun For The Whole Family.
