Our hearts go out to all those who have been impacted by the Kingston wildfire. The damage to Bell’s network is extensive across the nine communities affected by this tragic event in Newfoundland and Labrador. We know how critical connectivity is during times like these, and our teams are working around the clock, navigating through burnt rubble and challenging conditions to restore services as quickly and safely as possible.

We remain fully committed to rebuilding the network and reconnecting residents. Our team on the ground has been deeply moved by the strength and resilience of the communities, and we’re proud to be part of the recovery effort.

Here’s what’s been completed so far:

• All of the nearly 13 km of damaged fibre has been replaced
• Close to 7km of the nearly 15 km of damaged copper has been replaced
• All damaged or destroyed electronics in our communications hubs have been replaced
• All 154 poles requiring replacement have now been installed

Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by the wildfires in Atlantic Canada.

We extend our sincerest thanks to the crews and volunteers who have been working tirelessly to
battle fires over the past several weeks.

Since the onset of the Kingston wildfire, Bell teams have been working closely with Government Newfoundland and Labrador officials to monitor impacts to communications infrastructure, which has been significantly damaged or destroyed in several areas.

Our teams have now been granted access to the region and have begun the complex work of restoring services. Due to the extent of the damage and the logistics involved in transporting equipment and supplies, restoration is expected to take at least several days.

We understand how vital connectivity is during this unprecedented time and remain committed to keeping residents informed as progress continues.
