Inuit Nunangat University is getting closer to finding a home for its main campus.

On September 17, ITK’s Board of Directors approved a shortlist of eight communities under consideration to host the University’s main campus. The eight communities were selected following an Inuit Nunangat-wide review of infrastructure and community readiness.

Next, communities will be invited to confirm their interest with their own municipal councils, before engaging with ITK about local needs and capacity.

Communities not selected to host the main campus will be considered to host one of three of the University’s Knowledge Centres, ensuring each of the four regions of Inuit Nunangat is integrated into the University’s programing and operations.
