We were grateful for the opportunity to showcase how investments in Canada’s growing creative technology and interactive media sectors are driving innovation, creating opportunities, and fueling meaningful progress across our industry. Much of what we highlighted would not be possible without this ongoing support.

Simulating the Unreal. Localizing the Impact.

Northern Saskatchewan’s terrain demands extreme precision. When Cameco Corporation needed to visually communicate the complex mechanics of their uranium ice drilling exploration, we built the solution from the ground up using Unreal Engine.

Our 3D animation production pipeline didn't just model the drill sites and underground core sampling animations with hyper-realistic detail—we ensured the training tool resonated locally.

By sourcing talent and rendering the project with full narration in English, Cree, and Dene, this simulation bridges the gap between complex engineering and community engagement.

While this asset was delivered as a stunning 4K animation sequence, our production pipeline is built for total flexibility. Because these environments are built natively in Unreal Engine, this entire simulation can be seamlessly transitioned into an interactive VR training module. Trainees can step directly onto the ice, interact with the equipment, and experience the safety protocols firsthand.

Closing the Gap Between "What is that?" and "I can do that!" The Future of Training.

Choosing a career path shouldn't feel like a guessing game. For many, the biggest barrier to entering the skilled trades is simply not knowing what the day-to-day work actually feels like.

I recently sat down with SaskToday to discuss how we’re using VR simulators at Melcher Studios to give Regina residents a hands-on preview of high-demand careers—from welding to heavy equipment operation.

The goal is simple: Lower the barrier to entry. By providing a risk-free, immersive environment, we’re allowing the next generation of our workforce to "try on" a career before they ever commit to a training program.

VR for Real-World Readiness: We were trilled to work with Depot to develop the Cadet VR Firearm Range trainer.

This virtual reality simulator was designed to enhance fi****ms proficiency for cadets. Recognizing the challenges of limited range availability, this VR solution empowers cadets to practice and refine their skills during their free time. To maximize realism, we even repurposed a decommissioned firearm with 3D printing, providing an authentic feel. Our immersive simulations go beyond practice, identifying individual skill gaps and enabling targeted development. This benefits both the cadet's journey and the overall effectiveness of their training.

Last and finally not least, we're excited to announce Lift Equipped Bus Driving!

In this simulation, users take the driver's seat of a lift equipped bus and test their safety skills. This continuation of 'Lift Equipped Bus Inspection' is all about getting passengers safely to their destination. Users are judged on their speed, attention to posted traffic signs, and how they handle dangerous road hazards.

Developed in partnership with this experience helps build real-world confidence in a safe, guided environment.
