Been listening to the drum tracks from Saturday’s session, and they are by far the best drums I’ve tracked to date. Can’t wait for the next session with Christofur Real, Jay Bundas, Matt Mann and Kyle Bottcher.

One of the highlights of making this album with Christofur Real was getting to mix a tune with Bryan Keeling (P!NK, Shooter Jennings) on drums and YQR powerhouse Pat Molloy on bass! Not only were the performances stellar, but this song would not be what it is without them. The song started with just Chris laying down a scratch vocal/guitar to a click track. Then we sent it to Bryan. But instead of giving him some kind of guide drum track, we sent him just the scratch. We left it completely up to him. Why would I not have the professional drummer do his thing? I’m pretty sure you don’t accidentally end up working with the people he has. That may have been the best thing we did all project. Just go listen for yourself. And if it works for one, keep it going. So Pat got the track with the addition of drums and free rain! Once again, amazing!

But I’m biased, give it a spin! You may just dig it! 🤘

New addition to the mic locker. AEA A840. (Prior to being renamed R84a) I’m beyond excited.! I love ribbon microphones! I can’t wait to put this though the AEA RPQ 500 series pre that has been patiently waiting for its arrival.

Built a preamp rack that will allow me to have my preamps as close to the microphones as possible. It’s been a while since I soldered 32 mic ends in an afternoon. Well since I worked GV Audio Inc. , which is where that rack came from.
