Puakea is one of Hawaii's best-kept golf secrets, and one of its most fun rounds too.
Puakea Golf Course winds across more than 200 acres of volcanic cliffs, deep ravines, and mountain-fed streams, designed by the late Robin Nelson, one of Hawaii's most acclaimed course architects, who called it "the most fun course to play in Hawaii."
Every hole feels distinct, shaped by the natural drama of the land. Several scenes from the original Jurassic Park were filmed across the property, and the round often doubles as a wildlife tour, including sightings of the Nene, Hawaii's state bird and one of the rarest geese in the world.
Ranked among Hawaii's top public courses by GOLF Magazine and a repeat "Best of Kauaʻi" honoree, all at a green fee well below the island's resort-tier rounds.
