Revelstoke Legion Branch 46 is once again open Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays for karaoke, trivia nights and lounge access. The legion remains under trusteeship but progress is being made with the help of community support, trustee Peter McKenna said.

Revelstoke Boxing Club is once again asking the community if there might be a home out there for them. The organization put the call out to social media on May 31 and is still on the hunt for a space that can accommodate classes, equipment and maybe even some future endeavors.

“Even if we’ve talked in the past, maybe circumstances have changed… Please reach out to us, please contact us again,” A.J. Lerose, Revelstoke Boxing Club coach told Revelstoke Mountaineer.

Kyle Scott, Revelstoke content creator is the latest from the region to receive production funding and support from the TELUS STORYHIVE program. He’s now working to use the $12,000 in production funding to highlight the stories of Revelstoke’s first responders in an upcoming video podcast series.

“Revelstoke has all these different first responder bodies that we need for our area,” Scott told Revelstoke Mountaineer.

After working with students for nearly 10 years, Revelstoke Secondary’s favourite staff member is ready for retirement. Brushy has been a source of comfort, laughter and support for a range of students at Revelstoke Secondary School. The Pacific Assistance Dogs trained accredited service dog will now be enjoying some rest and relaxation as a thanks for his work.

"He’s like a bridge of loving fluffy yellow relationship," Dana Reaume, Learning Support Teacher at Revelstoke Secondary School and Brushy's handler told Revelstoke Mountaineer. "He’s such a calm and loving presence, it’s exactly what’s needed sometimes."

With major renovations to the old Gateway Inn on a roll, VRGE Revelstoke is nearing opening day with July as the goal. The latest hotel in Revelstoke will focus on providing guests with access to gear rentals, deals for local eateries and access to Revelstoke attractions.

“The property isn’t meant to be an amenity,” Matt Crowley co-founder of VRGE told the Mountaineer in a tour of the hotel. “Revelstoke and the surrounding area is supposed to be the amenity.”

“The canoe journey is a representation of what we’ve done for thousands and thousands of years, which is to go to our fishery at Kettle Falls, and manage that fishery,” Stevey Seymour, executive director for Inchelium Language House, told Revelstoke Mountaineer.
