Shopping for used laptops, textbooks, or uniforms? Online marketplaces may offer great deals, but it's important to stay vigilant!

Watch for signs something may not be right:
🚩 Unusually low prices
🚩 Sellers with no reviews
🚩 Requests for payment by gift card(s)

Protect yourself:
🤝 Meet in public, well-lit places or police-approved exchange zones (opp.ca/safetrade)
✅ Never share personal or banking information
💳 Never send payment by gift card
📲 Only send an e-transfer after you’ve picked up the item
🚩 Report suspicious ads to the marketplace platform

If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
