I'm thrilled to see the Region moving forward with the installation of these lights and the multi-use path. Since being elected, I've consistently advocated for a traffic signal at Bayview and Bethesda, and it's gratifying to see progress being made.
York Region is making improvements to the intersection of Bayview Avenue and Bethesda Sideroad in the City of Richmond Hill to help manage increasing traffic volumes and reduce delays.
Phase one of work begins in September 2025 and includes installing new traffic signals at the intersection. Lane restrictions will be in place Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to complete this work.
Phase two of work begins in 2026 and includes:
🔹Installing a multi-use path on the west side of Bayview Avenue, from Bayview Park Lane to Bloomington Road
🔹Installing new traffic signals and a left turn lane at the intersection of Bayview Avenue and Anchusa Drive
