Did you notice that some business accounts now have the long-missing Music option?
Business profile users woke up and noticed that their stories now offer "music," something that many had been asking for since Instagram first rolled out music. We are guessing that this shift may have something to do with Instagram's Reel feature, or, maybe they just simply finally worked out the music copyright issues. 🤷‍♂️

As you are thinking about ways to support small businesses this holiday season, by shopping local, think about another way you may be able to support these businesses.

Did you know that Instagram has decided that follower engagement has an order?
A simple double-tap or ❤️ is now considered the least valued, while the “save” (the bookmark icon on the bottom right) is the most valuable engagement.

Posts with a higher number of shares and saves are more likely to be featured, and lead to new exposure. 📱

You may already follow your favourite small business on social media. If you want to support them a little more (at no cost to you!), take a moment to comment, share their post with a friend, or to your story, or save it to come back to later!
Or do all four! 🙌

The bottom line is that all engagement is appreciated, while super-engaging with a small business could mean the world to them! 🌎

In honour of Work Kindness Day, we are reminding ourselves to add random acts of kindness to every day.

What if, today we send an uplifting text to a friend?
What if we give that compliment to a perfect stranger?
What if we let people merge with a smile, not a scowl?
