THE CANADIAN FILM AND TELEVISION INSTITUTE 加拿大电影电视学院 We are a unique and specialized institute where current film industry leaders from both China and North America work together to train the future acting and filmmaking professionals of tomorrow. OUR ADVANTAGES: * The CANADIAN FILM AND TELEVISION INSTITUTE (CFTI) was founded in 2010. Our staff has been awarded international prizes numerous times for their remarkable achievements in the film industry, while remaining actively involved. *CFTI has created a unique method to teach students, drawing from North American and Chinese education methods. Through performance in film productions and on stage, students can enjoy improving their communication skills, gaining confidence, and finding their own voice for personal expression. *CFTI has established its own web-based film & TV channel where audiences can watch plays, films, sketches, and global film & TV news. This allows our students to easily share their work with family & friends, while also building their reputations. STUDENT BENEFITS: * Our students have many opportunities to improve their performance skills, through various classes designed specifically to make them well-rounded actors and actresses. They will gain the confidence and skills necessary to perform in front of an audience or a camera, creating performances to share with family, friends, agents, or casting directors. * Our institute and faculty will refer our best students to international film and TV production companies where the students will have opportunities to step onto the world film and television stage. Networking is essential in the film and TV business, and our instructors are working actors, performers, directors, and filmmakers. * Bilingual language skills will be very helpful to succeed in your career. The language barrier is the primary reason why many famous film stars in Asia experience difficulty in gaining international recognition. * Every year, after the students’ practice works are played on our website, viewers and professionals will vote for who will be awarded our “Film Dream Prize” and “Best Performance Prize”. The winners will not only receive this impressive title, but also the ability to apply for scholarships from our institute. We will invite prestigious film and TV professionals to attend our awards ceremony. APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS: • Graduated from junior or senior high schools; • Transcript for grade: 70; • Proof of English proficiency (such as TOEFL or IELTS score): TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of 520 or higher (190 for computer- based test or 68 for internet-based test); IELTS 5.5, or the equivalent. • A short essay or letter demonstrated previous acting experience and a videotaped audition that meets Program standards.
