💕Slay your TikTok and Reels game! I'm sure Stefanie would say the same thing because she's Generation Z.

Stefanie is returning after co-hosting one of our most popular webinars last year on how the biggest brands are using video content to grow their audience and drive traffic through their funnel.

💚It'll be a good reminder that video content is often the first touchpoint for many people for your brand so the goal is often to get them to simply engage or follow. It's not usually about driving sales at that point.

💚It's also about authenticity over being slick and perfectly produced and even the most polished brands in the world are able to get fun and messy with video content.

💚And that although TikTok skews a little younger, all generations are on TikTok, which is where trends start.

Finally and maybe most importantly! You can re-use your TikTok content for other platforms like LinkedIn!

🪷I have mentioned a few times that last year was intense. I was really at a breaking point mentally, physically, and emotionally. I was just f*cking over it.

But one of my life rules is that I never make any major decisions when I'm in a bad place.

So I decided to commit to a year of hustle to get my feet planted so that I could breathe and make decisions only from a good place.

Which is why this year sort of snuck up on me. It's been full of dreams coming to life, fulfilling work, growth, and progress.

I love the Taoist idea that you need to empty your cup to welcome in anything new. A refresh. Radical new experiences come from radical change and I was put in a position where I had no other choice but to empty my cup and start from scratch in so many ways,

For those of you who have reached out about your own epic journeys...know that you can share big success and be grateful but also go through great struggles at the same time.

😬I’m going to get in trouble for saying this…

But stop listening to all the experts and listen to your gut. Everyone had a different brand and a different audience so when it comes to your marketing, mean into what YOU like and what makes you feel good.

I always say know the ‘rules’ well enough so you know how you want to break them.

Experts might tell you to engage an hour a day or post at 3am but I say if you hate IG get off it and plan some events. If you hate ads then collaborate.

Trust me I’ve tried ALL of the advice and my marketing only really resonates when I follow what’s fun and feels good.

🔥Two trade shows in two months.

Yep, we did that.

I’m currently feeling uneasy since I’m so used to the crazy pace out team has been working at for the past 3 months.

I think one of the greatest challenges as entrepreneur is easing and enjoy each state of flow. It’s easy to be stressed when you’re busy and stressed when you feel things are too slow.

I’m excited for next year but also excited to plan some Piquant events for this summer and FINALLY launch our membership.

I'm still simmering from the Planted Expo Toronto and all I learned and observed, with one of the highlights being Jake Karl's presentation on branding and narrative.

It was a little outside the box of our usual speakers at Planted but I really loved that we brought someone in for our business owners.

And besides bringing epic energy, here are a few things we learned from watching Jake work:

👏 The effort Jake puts into being present, appreciative, and positive is impressive. The man had around 1,357 engagements in one weekend and he was never anything but appreciative and positive.
👏 Jake is the owner of a multi-million dollar company but still got behind the table of his booth for a bit to meet consumers, answer questions, and join his team.
👏Jake has his team capture almost every moment as part of his brand narrative and everything is sliced together so quickly so that even boring shots like getting out of bed are useful when telling a story.
👏You either vibe with his brand or don't. He talked a bit about how the MDS environment isn't for everyone but it's hyper-clear to anyone what they're about and what is expected. No bait-and-switch.
👏Jake took every opportunity on stage to include the audience in creating content. With every appearance he's getting selfies with the audience so that he's multi-tasking but speaking and connecting but also gathering assets.
👏His team works really hard, but so does he and he's setting the tone with his passion.

Fingers crossed he's in Vancouver next year to be on our stage!
