2025 was a great year for Less Bland Productions. Thank you to everyone who made it so special. Milestones include:

🎬 Expanding the Team;
• Welcoming, Valerie Houle, our Development Coordinator.

🍁 Canadian Media Pursuits;
• Hosting a Canadian Media Production Association event in Victoria, BC this November.
• Attending the Banff World Media Festival

🪶 The success of Sweet Summer Pow Wow;
• Its world premiere, film festivals, and screenings at Cineplex, Landmark, and Independent Cinemas across Canada.
• International Film festival screenings in places such as Sydney, Australia and Los Angeles.
Press & Media tours, such as on ETalk Canada.

🏆 Awards & Nominations;
• Sweet Summer Pow Wow; Receiving the Audience Feature Favourite Award at the Victoria Film Festival + 6 Nominations at the Red Nation International Film Festival in Los Angeles (RNIFF25)
• Joshua Odjick for receiving the award for Outstanding Performance by a Leas Actor at )
• Congrats to The Great Salish Heist for 3 nominations at the BC Leo Awards: Screenwriting, Best Supporting Performance, Costume Design.

🌏 Going International;
• Travelling to Sydney, Australia, broadcasting Tzouhalem & A Cedar is Life on NITV network and screening Sweet Summer Pow Wow at the Barangaroo Reserve in Sydney 🇦🇺
• Attending MIPCOM in Cannes, France, meeting producers & film makers from around the world 🇫🇷
• Screening Sweet Summer POW Wow in Los Angeles and at the European Film Market in Berlin 🇩🇪

🎥 And More:
• Making headway on more features, such as Tzinquaw Opera, working with Indigenous individuals and communities across Canada.

Thank you to everyone who made 2025 so special and can’t wait to see what happens in 2026 🎉

Rest in Peace to Graham Greene, our friend and colleague. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten for his great performances and the trail he blazed for Indigenous talent for generations to come.

On November 20th, Houle and Leslie Bland (Less Bland Productions) hosted a Canadian Media Production Assn event at the Penny Farthing Pub in Oak Bay.

It was a great evening of networking and industry conversations and connections with fellow producers and industry stakeholders in Greater Victoria 🍁

Last week, Producer Leslie D. Bland attended the MIPCOM in Cannes, France! MIPCOM is the world's leading trade show for the TV & Entertainment industry 🎞️

Great to see both old and new friends. Wonderful meetings with distributors, sales agents, broadcasters, streamers, and foreign producers. New projects proposed and discovered for international co-production!

Today, we reflect on the history of Indigenous communities across Canada, and the process of Truth and Reconciliation.

Orca Cove Media encourages expanding knowledge of Indigenous communities through reflection, reading, watching, engaging in ceremonies, and attending events 🧡

The Great Salish Heist will be screening tonight at the Museum of Vancouver.
