A piece of Niagara history continues to move!
Sharing this incredible comparison photo from our friends at Niagara Parks Canada.
The Iron Scow—stranded in the upper rapids since a dramatic rescue mission in 1918—has shifted yet again. This 107-year-old shipwreck has long been a symbol of Niagara’s power, adventure, and history.
In recent years, strong weather events have slowly pushed the scow farther downstream from its original resting place. As of 2025, you can really see just how much nature has reshaped its position.
While experts expect it to stay put for now, the elements will continue to claim the structure over time—another reminder of the incredible force of the Niagara River.
