This Sunday is Father's Day and also the 1st day of summer!
Having lost my Dad in 2023, Father's Day is always a tough one. But I always remember his DAD-isms and it always makes me laugh. His giggle was infectious and he would always say- "Well, at least we can laugh!"

🎉 150 Years of History, Community, and Tradition! 🎉

The Saint John City Market marked a major milestone today as it celebrated 150 years of serving as the heart of the community.

Market Manager Andrew Clark and Mayor Donna Reardon reflected on the Market's rich history, recalling how it was once the place where residents gathered to catch up on the latest news and pick up essential supplies long before modern shopping options existed.

Looking ahead, exciting improvements are planned, including relocating the historic Hooper timepiece to the Market's main area, adding new seating, and refurbishing several vendor stalls, including Jeremiah's and others.

To mark the occasion, Java Moose unveiled a special "Opening Bell Blend" coffee roast, while Charlotte Street Bakery created commemorative treats for visitors to enjoy.

The Saint John City Market has always been a gathering place for the community, and with the launch of its new branding, the vision is to once again make the Market the city's go-to destination for connection, conversation, and unique local food and shopping experiences.

One of the day's highlights was the return of the original Saint John City Market bell following its restoration. In a symbolic moment celebrating both the past and the future, the bell rang once again.
