Ladies and Gentlemen
It is with deep regret to announce that we are shutting down our 24-hour service. The reasoning for this is because the home studio is moving to rural New Brunswick. We are at this point 100% broadcasted by the power of the internet. At this point in time, we have a fibre optic connection available to us, with unlimited internet and uncapped speeds. The new studio at this point will be limited to a satellite internet connection from the current only provider in the game (Xplornet). We can get up to the speeds required on a good day but there is a catch. After 100 GB of usage on their unlimited plan, the speeds are throttled down to 2 Mbps. It is still just enough to run the service but there is another snag. The internet connection is for everything in the household. When running the station, it can burn almost 4 GB per day. We will endure and move on to a once a week program. We will do this as often as we can. The other bottleneck in broadcasting over satellite internet is that it is dependent on clear weather to work. Don't be discouraged if we miss a week or two here or there. This just means that the weather conditions are not ideal to carry out our program. The good news in this means that we will be restucturing the program. We could start with our program featuring myself (Ryan) and Keiran in The Dial Sessions, a program where we will take the time to press the issues that arrise in life. We can alterate this show with other content such as plays. audio dramas, and other good content. Then afterwords we will play music with a host in the studio, the whole time we are on air. By doing this, we can offer a whole new emmersed experiance. We will be taking a two week break to move, change some core software, and build a schedule. Maybe get some new jingles. But we will return once everything is in place and ready to air. Goodnight everyone and I hope you all stay safe and be mindful of others. We hope to return to air no later then December the 19th at 6 PM.
