๐ญโจ Just captured the star, Arcturus, last night with my telescope from my driveway here in St. Thomas, On!
๐ Hereโs why this stellar giant is so fascinating: โArcturus is a red giant star in the northern constellation of Boรถtes, and the brightest star in the constellation. It is the fourth-brightest star in the night sky and the brightest in the northern celestial hemisphere.
It is about the same mass as the Sun, but has expanded to 25 times its size (around 35 million kilometers) and is around 170 times as luminous.โ (Source: Wikipedia โ Arcturus)
It's wild to think this giant used to be a star like our Sun โ๏ธโnow it's a glowing example of what awaits our own star in the distant future! ๐ฅ
๐ธ Stargazing never gets old when youโre chasing cosmic legends like this one.
