After some ruminating over one of ’s posts on surrounding yourself with the right group of people. Now, this has been active mission of mine that I’ve been refining for a number of years in my personal life. As a business, I also ran into barriers when implementing the same like the world shutting down, being beholden to my son’s schedule and associated whims, then not drinking any more and then available energy for getting out to things and then so many other things I could list …. well, it really eliminated a lot of local options. Online was hampered due to lack of internet. I can say that thankfully all of that has changed. So, what if now is the time to finally acknowledge my self-worth and step up as a leader to give others what I have troubles seeking myself? It does seem to be a theme, time to own it? Here’s to more considering…. Time to acknowledge my hidden visions I was too scared to follow while I also felt incredibly trapped. Changes and “my turn” seems about right.

I fell down a major research rabbit hole last night and ended up finding this course along the way! The Anne Sullivan centre! What is this wonder - there’s a back story here.

As most of you know, I’m deafblind and am host of a number of health challenges that are starting to make more sense, the more I learn and research. Asides, I also went through some very dark times in recent years. In this case, I’m referring to the grief of loved ones passing on. I was lost and I’d heard about reading biographies as a way to connect with a “role model”, an inspiration. That’s when I learned of Anne Sullivan, Helen Keller’s teacher. I ended up changing the direction of my doctorate even, it was that life affirming. Although I have been unable to complete the actual university PhD program, I still self-published a physical and digital mini-book “Identity of Disability: A Modern-Historical Comparison of living in North American Societies with deafblindness”

Anyways, sharing this cool piece of information I found!

Uploaded with captions... onto YouTube. haha. Ever the fun.

Yea.. really, its just me talking for 20 minutes about disability, accessibility, advocacy, topic seeking, and librarianship. How AI comes up with the titles in Riverside is kind of funny. Anyways, here we go with another round of tech attempting. I even got it converted to having captions on Riverside FM but ended up uploading to YouTube anyways. Ever an adventure. ☺️ Maybe YouTube will become primary - will experiment with their caption software again later and see if it catches my lisp any better now, otherwise, this works!
