💙 Sometimes you reconnect with someone in the community you’ve known for years and discover a whole story you never knew was there. That is exactly what happened when I ran into Diane Lambert again and it led to this powerful conversation with Diane and Monica Vautour.

❤️ We talk about family roots, including an incredible war bride story, and the very real journey of raising medically fragile children. There are honest moments about fear, overwhelm, guilt, strength, and the deep love that keeps parents moving forward. 🤝 One of the biggest themes is support — how parent to parent connection, shared experience, and community care can make a hard road more manageable.

🌳 You will also hear the story behind CCMF and Standing Oaks, and how years of persistence, advocacy, and heart helped create a true home environment for medically fragile residents — not just a facility. 🎶 From music and art programs to hands on care and daily connection, this place is built around dignity, warmth, and quality of life.

🥞 I have known Diane a long time, but we reconnected recently at a Moose Lodge breakfast where she was serving on behalf of CCMF as a fundraiser. That moment led to a great catch up — and a surprise to me — I had no idea she and her friend Monica Vautour had written a book together. 📚 Their book *Journey to a Dream* shares the full story, the lessons learned, the challenges they faced, and how determination and community made the difference.
