Sometimes the story doesn’t end with a win — and that’s okay.

I recently found out that I wasn’t selected for this year’s Governor General’s History Award, but I want to sincerely thank everyone who supported my nomination, sent messages, and cheered me on along the way. Your encouragement means a lot to me.

Being considered at that level was an honour in itself, and it reminds me why I keep doing this work — to uncover and share the forgotten stories that make up Saskatchewan’s past.

My next Abandoned Saskatchewan film is coming soon — the story of the long-lost US Navy Beechcraft from Operation Attaché, and how I helped rediscover it after nearly eight decades.

The Beech will never fly again, but it stands as a powerful reminder of Saskatchewan’s abandoned history — and of how much is still waiting to be remembered.

Thank you all for being part of this journey. The story continues. ✈️

Going to be an interesting weekend!

Off today to document the 1947 crash site of a US Navy Beech Expeditor in northern Saskatchewan that's only accessible by floatplane as a part of the Abandoned Saskatchewan series. Details about exactly how a US Navy plane ended up in Northern Saskatchewan that resulted in the largest search-and-rescue operation in Canada up until that point? You'll have to wait for the video!

HUGE shoutout to bush pilot Doug Chisholm, author David Riach, and all around great guy Les Oystryk for making this possible.
