Difficult colours made easier with this process. I’ll wet bed my blend areas right up to my sealer and go immediately into my colour coverage coat over my sealer. Spray back to back and lay my orientation out over top of everything. Blend as needed. I don’t know if this process is by the book but it hasn’t failed me yet. If you colour is really awful to lay down. Wet bed the whole area and then slap your drop coat on. Wet bed helps with any potential seediness. If you’re a DeBeer or Sherwin 9k guy try it out. If you’re not, try it out anyways. I think most of the others systems this is their standard process. It’s extra material and work but helps in tricky colours.

Claim repair on this bumper was a rub on the left edge. But what usually happens is we decide to repair as much of the bumper that we would consider reasonable. We handled as many rock chips through the middle. Leaving space on the right side to blend colour leaving the original colour intact on that side. Living in Saskatchewan definitely includes bumpers getting more beat up than normal.

How to get clean lines with fine line tape. Clean the plastic, spray a light coat of adhesion promoter, apply fine line, gently heat with heat gun and press down, and grey scuff pad to the edge of the tape.
