Okay, it's our first-time having a long winter. Like too long. We are happy that our chickens are doing well. We didn't put heater in there coop. The chickens adjust whatever temperature outside. We had -30+ this year. I'm happy they survive, they are a trooper. I put inside the coop is thick layer of straw. I gave them warm water that I change everyday. They lay eggs everyday. We are grateful. Give and take system is amazing!
