This month, we officially launched Village Media’s inaugural Community Impact Protocol. The protocol is our company's approach to solutions journalism and provides an opportunity to focus our local reporters on the issues that matter most to the people in our communities.

Another month, another major award nomination for one of our Village Media journalists 🎊

BarrieToday's Kevin Lamb is nominated for Best News Coverage (Community Publication) at the 10th annual Digital Publishing Awards for a series of articles that put a face on the homelessness crisis in his community.

Other great news to share: our local sites, along with business partners and readers, raised over $31,500 to support shelters in our communities 🫶

Also in May, our SPACES teams had the chance to meet up IRL with hosts and community members, giving the opportunity to connect with neighbours over shared interests.

The Canadian Association of Journalists has announced this year’s finalists for Canada’s top investigative journalism awards and our very own Jessica Owen is among them.

And ICYMI: Our Inside the Village team scored an exclusive interview with Mark Carney just days before the federal election. That marks the second interview in less than six months with a Canadian prime minister.
