✨ Looking Back on 2025 & Looking Ahead to 2026 ✨

2025 was a year of focus, structure, and meaningful change. It challenged the way I work, the habits I’ve built, and how I approach my creative life. It was a year of growth not just as a business owner, but as a creative. Along the way, I learned the importance of boundaries and how essential it is to honour them.

One thing became even clearer this past year: organization is one of my greatest strengths. When my work is structured with intention, it creates space to adapt, make thoughtful decisions, and stay aligned with my purpose. That clarity allows me to remain inspired while continuing to serve the clients who trust me to tell their stories.

I have always believed that every client deserves to feel cared for throughout their experience. That attention is part of what makes my work so meaningful. At the same time, I have learned that perfectionism without rest can quietly lead to burnout. Creativity needs space to breathe, and recovery is essential. ♥️

Because of this, I made a conscious commitment to protect my time and energy:

• Building in and honouring rest days

• Creating sustainable workflows that support long-term creativity

📍 Grande Prairie & Area Clients – Special Announcement

For the first time, Miss Friend Photography now has a part-time studio space. This gives me the ability to offer sessions more often, have sets prepared and organized, and provide a relaxed and enjoyable experience for every client. I look forward to welcoming clients to this space and making 2026 a year of creative, story-focused photography in Grande Prairie.

Excuse me while I catch my breath. ♥️

I can’t believe it’s already November, and in just 15 days, a new and exciting year of Christmas In Sexsmith will begin. It has been such a pleasure to serve as the event photographer and digital marketer for this incredible celebration over the past few years. As the event grows, I feel myself growing as a creative every year too.

It’s hard to believe that just three months ago, I was in Calgary working with the beautiful pin up girls. September marked an exciting new chapter as I began a part-time role with Grande Prairie Tourism, helping big ideas become realities and capturing beautiful fall sessions. Along the way, I’ve had the joy of connecting with so many inspiring individuals through photography, and collaborations with local businesses and community groups.

You might not believe me when I say it, but I really did make space to stay ahead this year. Life has a way of keeping us on our toes, and most of the time that turns out to be a good thing. All of these experiences have helped me evolve as a business owner, and I am so grateful for that.

I appreciate everyone’s patience as I steadily work through my commitments. Know that each of you are so important to me and you'll hear from me soon. 📸

It’s finally Halloween week, and you know what that means—it’s time to turn up the spooky vibes! 🎃

To kick things off, I’m sharing some of my favourite eerie creations, starting with the beautiful Melody on Miss Friend’s very own Freakshow Carnival set from last year in Calgary. This gorgeous firecracker had the brilliant idea to literally play with fire, and with a safe setup, she lit up the main carnival stage in the most magical way. 🔥
