Psst... I heard it's Gemini season. ♊

Would you be surprised to learn I'm a Gemini? Somehow, I don't think so.

It probably explains why I ended up in a creative, people-focused career. I love being social, but I'm equally happy at home with my favourite people and things. The Gemini duality is real.

Chautauqua Days | Sexsmith | June 2026

It's safe to say that it rained on our parade this year. But as an eternal optimist, I have to say it was still a fantastic turnout despite the weather. After attending this event for the past few years, this was the first Chautauqua Days where the rain was here to stay. Usually, it holds off until late afternoon, so I'd call this poor timing, but much-needed rain nonetheless.🌦️

Much like an outdoor photoshoot, when the weather doesn't cooperate, you simply roll with it and make the best of the day.

One of the highlights this year was the special preview hosted by the Sexsmith and District Museum Society. Visitors had the opportunity to explore two new museum locations and visit several exciting new exhibits. An incredible amount of hard work has gone into these additions, and it shows. Be sure to stop by and check them out this summer. 🏛️

Despite the rain, Main Street, Food Truck Alley, and the Sexsmith Farmers Market were buzzing with activity. It was wonderful to see so many people out supporting this special annual event.

A huge thank you to all of the parade participants who braved the weather, the hardworking Chautauqua Days committee for organizing another great celebration, the local vendors, and everyone who came out and made the day special despite the rain. ☔

Sometimes the best community events aren't remembered for perfect weather, but for the people who show up anyway.

Excuse me while I sit in awe of the midway lights.🎡

The GP Stompede is an annual weekend in Grande Prairie dedicated to chuckwagons, rodeo events, and community showcases. But even if rodeos aren't your thing, there's so much more to discover on the midway.

It's been a few years since I last made it out to enjoy the midway, and this year I knew I had to go. We waited until just before sundown, hoping for an incredible sunset and the glow of the midway lights. What followed was an experiment in creativity, light play, and a fun night out on the midway.🎠

Event photography isn't limited to fundraisers and milestone celebrations. Event coverage can be creative, energetic, and full of personality. It captures the atmosphere, excitement, and unique character of your event while helping build a content library you can use to promote future events.

Back at their old location, Second Chance Reads hosted a sold out adult book fair and it was such a vibe. The setup was gorgeous, the energy was amazing, and I got to capture it all as the event photographer.

Since then, they’ve kept the events rolling and their new downtown space above Clover Co. is worth the visit on its own. Grab a dirty soda, hang out, browse books, and soak in one of the coolest spots downtown.

While you’re there, stop into Clover Co for unique finds and a great consignment selection.
